Charter schools lead the way to declining science test scoresRecent science test scores reveal Weld County Colorado charter schools show notable losses.

According to an article by The Tribune,Weld County Colorado science test scores dropped overall, however, the data reveals a more significant decline in charter school performance. Results for the Colorado Measures for Academic Success (CMAS) science test, given to fifth and eighth grade students over the past two years, raise concerns about performance issues.

The following charter school fifth graders saw dramatic declines in science performance:

  • Knowledge Quest Academy (Milliken) fell 11.7%
  • West Ridge Charter Academy dropped 19.7%
  • Frontier Academy plunged 27.3 %
  • Windsor Charter Academy plummeted  33%
